Firing Workshop

Thank you for the amazing workshop at
Geil Kilns with Tom Coleman. You were right- I learned a
lot in those 3 days!
I have actually applied some of the things you taught us
to the studio. I added muriatic acid to all of our cone
10 glazes and they are so much easier to work with now.
Thank you for the great workshop and being so incredibly
generous with your time and knowledge. The students will
greatly benefit from it. On behalf of the ceramics
studio at USC, thank you!!
Sincerely,
Karen Chu

Hi Paul,
I can't begin to tell you how great and informative your
Coleman/Geil Work Shop was! Phenomenal is one word that
comes to mind! I've been a professional potter for
almost 40 years now, and the Ceramics Teacher at Laguna
Beach High School for the past 29 years. As you know, I
use your kilns exclusively at school as well as my
studio. After all these years of experience working with
clay, teaching ceramics, and firing kilns, you would
think there is nothing left to learn. Wrong! Not only
did I learn some new subtitles and insights to firing
techniques, but Tom's expertise in glazing, throwing,
and precise kiln reduction firing practices truly has
re-energized and inspired me to a new and higher level
of thinking about the craft/art that has been my life
long passion.
I'm really looking forward to participating in your up
and coming work shop in October! Please reserve me a
spot on your list of participants. I am excited for the
opportunity of seeing and working with you and Tom
again! I've been in a lot of professional development
seminars in ceramics, but none of them even come close
to the quality of information I obtained from yours. Tom
and you work so very well together and made the
experience really fun as well.
Take care and talk to you soon!
Sincerely,
Bill Darnal |
